Accuracy of Estimated Central Systolic Blood Pressure and Augmentation Index in Patients With Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus

چکیده

It has been suggested that transfer functions to estimate central aortic systolic blood pressure (SBP) and BP waveform parameters (i.e., augmentation index) may be less accurate in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). However, these observations have not confirmed a large sample, which was the aim of this study. Consecutive without T2DM undergoing coronary angiography at Royal Hobart Hospital had recorded ascending aorta radial artery fluid-filled catheter. Radial waveforms were processed using SphygmoCor Cardiovascular Management System (CVMS) function (AtCor, Sydney) BP. Two invasive calibration methods used: 1) mean arterial pressure/diastolic (MAP/DBP); 2) SBP DBP (SBP/DBP). between-group analyses performed unadjusted adjusted for age, sex, hypertension, hypercholesterolaemia, body mass index, disease. Data from 64 (61±11 years, 73% male) 186 (62±8 70% analysed. There no difference accuracy estimated between groups when compared MAP/DBP (T2DM –1.8±6 mmHg vs –1.1±5 mmHg; p=0.37; p=0.59) or SBP/DBP –1.2±9 –2.0±9 p=0.57; p=0.66). Augmentation index significantly different 0.8±12% 3.7±14%; p=0.13, respectively). Estimated do appear are calibrated

Background: Depression as a frequent comorbidity in patients with diabetes requires serious attention, as failure to early detect and treat it can adversely affect the patients' complications. This study was performed to assess the prevalence of depression and quality of life in these patients. Methods: This cross-sectional study was carried-out on adult patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus ...

Seasonal Variation in Blood Pressure in 162,135 Patients With Type 1 or Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus.

Seasonal variation in blood pressure (BP) has been observed in different populations. However, only few studies have focused on BP seasonality in diabetic patients. This study examined the seasonal patterns in BP in 62,589 patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM) and in 99,546 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) from the German/Austrian Diabetes Follow-up Registry. Adjusted mean ...
